Zoopla (used by David Phillip Estate Agents) says that house prices are rising nearly twice as fast as the national house price inflation average of 2.7%.
It is clear from transactional data that households are continuing to buy property at a steady rate and the impetus for growth in both activity and prices is focused in regional housing markets.
The year on year Brexit busters are:-, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham , Cardiff and Manchester, with Leeds in 7th place with a nett growth of 5.7%
“The strongest performing cities are outside SE England where affordability remains attractive and employment levels are rising” says Zoopla’s Research and Insight Director Richard Donnell
“We expect Current trends in price growth to continue across the rest of the year with, prices rising in line with earnings for much of the Uk.
Lesa Brown a Director at David Phillip Estate Agents said “not only is Leeds seen as one of the Country’s Brexit busters, it is also a great place to live. Lots of development is taking place around Leeds Bradford airport, with improved rail links and infrastructure that will mean prospective buyers look to areas such as Bramhope, Pool-in –Wharfedale, Adel, Otley and Cookridge.
Good local amenities, independent shops and restaurants with an excellent infrastructure, close to the city centre is ideal. We can totally understand why Leeds is a Brexit Busting City”
