Bramhope is probably one of the most popular residential area within easy commuting distance of the commercial centres of Leeds and Bradford.

The village has a rich history and first appeared in the Domesday Book in 1086. In the 13th century monasteries owned much of the land surrounding the village. As a result, local monks were known to use tracks, such as Scotland Lane and Staircase Lane, to travel to the nearby, historic Kirkstall Abbey.

Famously, the village was nearly wiped out by the Black Death of 1348-09. When the number of adults reduced to only 34 individuals. Subsequently, this has increased and today Bramhope has a vibrant population of approaching 3,400 residents.
