Working from home – flexible, productive and helping the carbon footprint too
In today’s busy working world, the distance from home to work can often be a long and difficult commute.
The impact of driving to work can also eat into your working day, whilst also impacting on the environment – home working can reduce your carbon footprint with car emissions as well as saving travelling expenses.
Today you do not necessarily need to physically go to work, you just work regardless of the location, and as long as you have the right environment in which to work, supported by the best technology and it works well for you as well as for the company you are employed by then this can be a viable alternative
If you are a small business then, working from home can also provide the advantage of not paying hefty business charges too.
So how do you make this transition from travelling to work to arriving straight to your ‘desk’ which can be a bit jarring first thing on a morning! – go straight to your ‘ to-do’ list and by starting first thing, this can be much more effective than starting with breakfast and allowing the morning sluggishness to set in – have your breakfast mid-morning when you are ready for a break

Walk this May
May is national walking month, and with the lovely weather we are experiencing here in Yorkshire, what better way to join the annual celebration organised by Living Streets to celebrate.
Living Streets, (sponsored by the Pheonix Group) who are marking their 90tth anniversary, advise people to join their walking campaign to make streets fitter for walking for everyone whether they are aged nine or 90.
Everyone can get involved either by adding more walking to your daily routine, be it at work, to school or around your neighbourhood.

At David Phillip Estate Agents, one of our favourite Instagram accounts is ‘Find this door’ it has 182k followers and is a ‘community of Door Lovers’ – we love the vibrant and unusual pictures it posts of doors all over the world that are interesting, beautiful and historical and in nearly all cases they really stir the imagination.
As I look at these pictures when they are posted on Instagram, it makes me wonder what lies behind each wonderful door and also the importance of the front door of any property.
