Market Slowdown?

1st March 2019
Announced earlier this week in Estate Agent Today, both major portals, Rightmove and Zoopla have revealed more evidence of a gently slowing housing market reporting that the average time to sell a property across Great Britain as a whole has risen from 72 days a year ago to 77 days now (although in Yorkshire and Humberside the Zoopla current average days to go under offer is 49 days). The time to sell is defined as when a property first lists on Rightmove to when it is marked sold subject to contract.
HMRC has reported that in January there were 101,170 housing transactions in the UK, on a seasonally adjusted basis, this was up by 0.8% on the previous month and by 1.3% on January last year.

8th February 2019
Moving home can be quite stressful, although at David Phillip Estate Agents we try to make it as stress free as possible. Completion day has arrived, boxes have been packed and on the removal van so all that’s left to do is hand in your keys and do that final bit of cleaning to ensure your house is left in a pristine state for the new owners. People often think ‘why should I bother cleaning the house before I move’ but another way to think about it is to leave your home in the condition that you would want to be greeted with when stepping into the home you’ve just purchased! - There is nothing worse than having to clean a house around boxes / furniture / appliances, and absolutely nothing worse than having to clean other people’s mess and dirt!
