Leeds Light Night 2020 – October 22nd- 24th from 6pm

Thursday 22 Oct 2020

People living in the City Centre will be able to watch the light show from a safe distance as the lasers will be from the top of seven city centre rooftops.

Because of Covid-19 and the socially distancing requirements, the event this year will run online and give viewers the chance to control the lights themselves using a tablet or a phone. Viewers will be able to direct the pattern, colour and direction of the lights’ movement online and watch the show through a stream.

Once the event starts, choose which laser site you want to access, and the interface will appear on the screen and the lasers will follow your movement. There will be additional controls at the bottom of the screen if you want to change the shape and colour of the beams.

Participating sites are:-

  • Victoria Leeds Car Park (supported by Victoria Leeds,
  • Bridgewater Place (supported by CEG:Temple)
  • The Majestic (supported by C4)
  • Wellington Place (supported by Wellington Place)
  • Platform Building (supported by Reed Smith)
  • Parkinson Building (supported by University of Leeds)
  • Merrion House (supported by Leeds city council

Tap on the site you want, and you’ll then have the chance to join the Queue, it is important that you do not let your phone switch off or you will lose your place – for more details go onto the Leeds City Council website  – Light Night Leeds 2020

The laser can be seen from wherever you are
